VEFmusic help — Getting started guide

Getting started in seven steps

From an empty site to a band website that is live, in the order you will need it. Each step tells you where to go in the menu.

  1. Enter your band identity

    Settings › General

Fill in the band name, a short bio, a logo and your contact and social links. They are reused across the plugin, in particular by the press kit.

  2. Add your tracks

    Products › Tracks

Add a track — or import a whole album at once — upload the audio file and choose how visitors can listen: a preview, the full track for everyone, or buyers only.

  3. Group your tracks into albums

    Products › Albums

Create an album with its front and back cover, release year and genres, then attach tracks to it from the screen of each track.

  4. Publish your shows

    Products › Shows

Add each show with its date, venue, poster and, if you have one, a link to your ticketing.

  5. Place the blocks on your pages

    In your page editor

Add the VEFmusic blocks (Gutenberg), modules (Divi 5) or widgets (Elementor): Track List, Album, Shows, Next Show, Past Shows and Random Player.

  6. Match your site’s look

    Settings › Style

Choose the colors, the spacing and the font once for the whole site. Left empty, the blocks follow your theme.

  7. Send your press kit

    Marketing › Press kit

Generate a PDF (and a zip) from what you have already entered, and paste its stable link into a button anywhere on your site.

Content

1. Add tracks

Tracks menu > Add. Fill in the title, duration, album (optional), an optional comment, optional lyrics (a "Show lyrics" button then appears under the track on the site), the audio file, and choose the listening mode:

  • Preview only — visitors hear a short preview; full playback is reserved for buyers with VEFmusic Pro (see the "About" page).
  • Free full listen — the whole track is freely available to everyone (useful to preview an album).
  • Buyers only — identical to "preview" on the listening side; designed for selling individual tracks with VEFmusic Pro.

The length of the preview (in seconds) is set once for the whole site in the General tab ("Default preview length"); on a track, "Preview length (seconds)" replaces it for that track only. It only applies to the "Preview only" and "Buyers only" modes.

If a track has no duration entered, its real duration is read from the audio file (WAV, FLAC or MP3), so the preview length always applies. A duration entered by hand takes precedence.

The audio file is uploaded directly into the "Master file" field of the track. It's never stored in the WordPress media library nor accessible via a direct link: playback always goes through an access check based on the chosen listening mode. "Preview length" lets you override, track by track, the default length set in the General tab. The track list shows an "Album" column indicating which album each track belongs to.

Automatic pre-fill from the file's tags (v2.3.8): on upload, the file's tags (ID3 for MP3, equivalent metadata for FLAC/OGG/M4A) are read automatically using WordPress's own built-in library — no new dependency. The Duration field is filled in from it if left empty, and a Genre found in the tags is added if the track has none yet; either can still be changed by hand afterwards. A Title or Album found in the tags is only shown as a note under the file field — never applied automatically, since only you can tell if it matches this site's naming and existing albums.

Light MP3 version: if the master file is FLAC/WAV/M4A, an MP3 version is automatically generated in the background when hosting allows it (see the Diagnostic and support screen — "Automatic audio conversion"), and used first for playback on the site (the master stays used for "studio quality" sales with VEFmusic Pro). When automatic server-side conversion isn't available, the track edit screen offers an in-browser conversion instead (a button appears next to the file field — runs entirely in your browser tab, no server dependency, works on any hosting) — a dedicated field also lets you upload a light MP3 yourself at any time, track by track. This field can also be used ON ITS OWN, without a master file, if that's all you have for a given track — that alone is enough to make it playable on the site (the automatic tag pre-fill above only happens from a master file, though).

The MP3 version is encoded at 320 kbps. A track converted with an earlier version keeps its quality until you upload its master file again.

2. Import tracks in bulk (optional)

To add a whole album (or any batch of tracks) at once instead of one by one: Tracks > "Import tracks in bulk", next to the « Add » button.

Choose several audio files at once — they're uploaded one at a time (never all in parallel, to stay gentle on shared hosting), each one becoming a draft track pre-filled from its own tags: title, duration, genre and, if the tags include an album name, a suggestion to either attach it to a matching existing album or create a new one. Only for a NEW album (never an existing one): the album name stays editable, and any cover picture found embedded in the tags is proposed too, replaceable with another image before publishing — an existing album's own cover is never touched by this.

A checkable review table appears once all files are uploaded: filter it live, adjust anything per track (or leave a suggestion as-is), then confirm to publish the whole batch — or discard it entirely if something's wrong, nothing is published until you confirm.

One thing to know: each track set to "Create a new album" creates its OWN album post when you confirm, even if several tracks in the same batch suggest the exact same name — importing a 10-track album this way, all left on "Create a new album", would create 10 separate albums rather than one shared album. To group them into a single album: publish the batch, then use the bulk editing described below to reassign every track in that album to the same one (or, before confirming, only leave "Create a new album" checked on the first track and pick "existing album" for the others once it exists).

3. Bulk editing (optional)

On the Tracks list: select several tracks, choose "Bulk Edit" from the actions dropdown, then Apply — a native WordPress panel appears with an added "Album" field (leave it on "— No change —" to skip it, or pick an album to reassign every selected track at once, including "— No album —" to detach them). Handy right after a bulk import to group tracks that ended up with separate albums (see above).

The Tracks list also lets you edit the track number, album, listening mode and price of every track directly in its row, then save them all with one "Save changes" button (top or bottom of the table). The track number decides the order of the tracks in an album on your site. The list opens grouped by album (tracks without an album last), with the tracks of each album sorted by track number — click the "Album" header to reverse the album order, or the "Track no." header to sort every track by number regardless of album. Tracks left at 0 come first in their album, alphabetically.

On the Albums list: check the albums you want, choose "Set status to Published" or "Set status to Draft" in the actions bar above the table, then Apply.

4. Group into albums

VEFmusic > Products > Albums > "+ Add an album": title, band name, release year, front and back cover (WordPress media picker), genres, description.

"Track list — collapsed by default" controls whether the tracklist appears open or closed the first time it's displayed on the site (the visitor can always expand/collapse it).

The "price" field remains visible on the album but only takes effect with VEFmusic Pro installed and active — without it, VEFmusic remains a pure showcase plugin (no sales).

The album price is the price of its digital download. A vinyl or any other physical edition is a separate product: create it as a Merch product with VEFmusic Pro (VEFmusic > Products > Merch).

With VEFmusic Pro, "Automatic discount" on the album applies the full album price instead of the sum of the individual track prices when every track of the album is in the cart.

5. Publish shows

VEFmusic > Products > Shows > "+ Add a show": title, date (time optional — leave empty if not known yet, no time will then be shown), venue, address, image (show poster — displayed next to the text, in its original proportions), venue/organizer link (optional, if different from the ticket link), description. Add a link to your usual external ticketing (Dice, Shotgun, Billetweb…) if you're not using VEFmusic Pro's internal ticketing. With Pro and internal ticketing enabled for this show (booking directly on the site, with a QR code), a buy button appears automatically in this block, nothing more to add — see the "About" tab.

"Price (€)" is the main source: filled in, it automatically shows "X€" next to a payment icon on the site (nothing if left empty, never a misleading "0€") — also used as the real price if internal ticketing (VEFmusic Pro) is enabled. The free-text "Price note" is optional: it complements the price (e.g. "— reduced rate on request"), or replaces it if the price isn't a plain number (e.g. "Pay what you like", "Free entry") — in that case, leave the Price field empty.

6. Visitor ratings (optional)

DISABLED BY DEFAULT for every content type — nothing shows on the visitor side until you check the matching box in the "Visitor ratings" tab (one box per type: Tracks, Albums, Shows) and click Save. Once enabled, a rating only becomes visible and counts toward the displayed average after manual approval in that same tab, to prevent abusive reviews or spam. The Diagnostic and support screen (see below) confirms the enabled state if in doubt.

Clickable stars also appear inside the blocks: next to the length of each track (Track List and Album blocks), under the title of each album (Album block) and under the title of each past show (Shows block with past shows displayed, and Past Shows block) — never on an upcoming show. Each of these four blocks has a "Show visitor ratings" setting, on by default, that hides the stars in that block only (block settings in the block editor, Content tab in Divi 5 and Elementor); in the Album block it covers both the album stars and the track stars. It never turns ratings on: that still depends on the boxes of the "Visitor ratings" tab.

Ratings you approved stay listed in the "Visitor ratings" tab under "Approved ratings". Tick the box of one or several ratings (or the box in the table header to select them all), then click "Delete selected" to remove them for good — handy to clean up or start again. When ratings are turned off for a content type, the "Show visitor ratings" setting of the blocks is replaced by a note in the block editor and in Elementor (Divi 5 shows the setting anyway, but it has no effect).

7. Listening stats

"Listening stats" tab (VEFmusic > Marketing): ranking of the tracks and albums most played by your visitors. Nothing to configure — active automatically, nothing to turn on. 100% anonymous: no IP address, cookie or visitor identifier is ever stored, just a counter per track. Reloading the page can recount the same play (no deduplication is done, on purpose, to stay anonymous).

Press kit

VEFmusic > Marketing > Press kit tab (VEFmusic > Marketing): automatically puts together, from the band identity, bio, social links and albums already entered, a document ready to send to a journalist — nothing to copy by hand.

Click "Generate" to produce a PDF (and, if hosting allows it, a full zip with the photos and audio previews already configured in the plugin). Generation is never automatic: regenerate manually after updating the bio, logo or albums.

Three dedicated cards let you choose exactly what's included: which albums (all, or a specific selection — new albums join automatically unless you switch to "specific"), which tracks get their audio preview attached as a real file in the zip's /previews/ folder (a filterable checklist, never the master files), and any extra photos beyond the logo and album covers (always included automatically) to attach in the zip's /photos/ folder.

The bio and free text fields support bold, italic, lists, links, and paragraph alignment (left/right/center/justify) — rendered as real, selectable text in the PDF (not an image), so a journalist can still select and copy your text into their own article.

Additional paragraphs can be added in one or two columns — the number of columns is chosen when the paragraph is added and cannot be changed afterwards (remove and re-add it to switch).

Once generated, a stable URL appears on this tab — paste it into a button or text link, wherever you want on the site (no dedicated block yet). It stays the same from one regeneration to the next: no need to update it after every change.

Custom title/text font (Global style card): .ttf and .woff2 are both supported. A .woff2 file needs this specific hosting to support decoding it (a clear message shows once one is selected, saying whether it will actually work here) — if not, or for .otf (not supported at all), the kit quietly falls back to Helvetica.

Same card: section title color, text color, link color, and the PDF's own background color — independent from the site's theme, so the kit keeps a consistent look wherever it's opened. Every section (native ones and any added by VEFmusic Pro) follows these same colors.

Fill in the press contact email and phone in the General tab (Identity section) — they appear prominently on the kit.

An anonymous weekly count of full zip downloads shows at the top of this tab — no IP address, cookie or visitor identifier stored, just a running counter.

Advanced card: a checkbox to exclude crowdfunding/preorder campaigns from the generated kit even if VEFmusic Pro is active and some are running (on by default) — always visible, but with no effect without VEFmusic Pro (nothing to include or exclude). Same card: optional background/text color for that section specifically, same principle as a paragraph or media section below — unchecked reuses the Global style card's colors.

An optional contact form before download, download statistics, ready-made PDF templates, limited-use links, a press contact list, and additional independent kits are all available with VEFmusic Pro — see the About page for details.

Media sections — add photo galleries, document/audio file lists, or a two-column layout mixing text/photos/documents/audio, in addition to the free text paragraphs above. Choose where each one appears in the "Section order" card. Photos are shown in the PDF to illustrate the kit, and the original full-resolution files are added to the zip ("photos/" folder) — an image inserted inside a text paragraph appears in the PDF only; documents and audio files can't be shown inside a PDF, so they're listed by name there and included as real files in the zip ("documents/"/"audio/" folders).

The blocks and their settings

Six blocks are available in the block inserter (search "VEFmusic"): Track List, Album, Shows, Next Show, Past Shows, Random Player. The Divi 5 Visual Builder offers the 6 equivalent modules. VEFmusic Pro adds its own blocks (Cart, Donate…) once installed.

Track List

Displays published tracks with a player and buy button. Available settings:

  • Maximum number / Filter by genre — automatic list, optionally restricted.
  • Group by album — shows a header per album (cover + title) instead of a flat list, albums sorted from newest to oldest — handy as soon as the band has several albums (a kind of full discography).
  • Playlist mode (manual selection) — instead of an automatic list, choose exactly which tracks to display and in what order (search field). Each block has its own selection, independent from the others — handy for a themed playlist on a specific page.

A toolbar at the top of the block lets you play/pause the whole list at once, adjust the volume, and turn on shuffle — independent from block to block if several are present on the same page. The Album block has its own equivalent toolbar (see below) and also benefits from automatic playback of the next track if enabled (VEFmusic > Settings > General).

Album

Displays ONE chosen album (cover, description, collapsible tracklist) — a dropdown in the block's settings lets you choose exactly which one. Place several Album blocks (one per page) to present each album separately.

If the album has a back cover (VEFmusic > Products > Albums), a small button on the front cover lets visitors switch between the front and the back.

A toolbar at the top of the block lets you play/pause the whole album at once and adjust the volume — works even with the tracklist collapsed. Also benefits from automatic playback of the next track if enabled (VEFmusic > Settings > General); no shuffle here, an album's track order is deliberately respected.

Shows

Displays upcoming shows (date badge, image if provided, ticket link). Settings: maximum number, also show past shows, archive (show ONLY past shows), date badge color.

"Featured mode" shows only the NEXT upcoming show, in a larger layout — ideal on a homepage, with a countdown ("In X days"). Automatically moves to the next show once the date has passed, with no action needed. On the Divi 5 side, a separate "VEFmusic — Next Show" module exists for this — no need to configure anything on the standard "Shows" module.

Concert-ticket-style layout (v0.46.8): date/time/venue on the left, separated from the rest by a dotted line evoking a perforation (never an actual cut), then the full title/venue, then description and buttons. Automatically switches to a vertical stack on small screens.

No show planned? A fallback message shows automatically, with links to your social media if you've entered any (General tab) — nothing more to do.

Past Shows

Archive of past shows, most recent first — archive mode always on, nothing to configure besides the date badge color. Place this block on a dedicated page ("Past Shows", "History"…) separate from your usual "Shows" page. The Tickets/Venue website buttons are never shown for a past show (pointless once the date has passed).

Enlarge on click

The Album, Shows, Next Show and Past Shows blocks (and their Divi 5 modules and Elementor widgets) have an "Enlarge on click" setting, off by default: a click on the album cover or the show poster opens it in a larger view. In Divi 5 it is a No/Yes list in the Content tab of the module.

If the album has a back cover, the larger view has its own flip button, and the cover on the page follows it. A click outside the image, the close button or the Esc key closes the larger view.

The background of the larger view takes the color of your site. To choose another one, set the CSS variable "–vefm-lightbox-veil" (for example "rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85)") in your custom CSS.

With VEFmusic Pro, the same setting is available on the Ticketing block (venue map, with a zoom button) and on the Preorder block (image gallery).

Random Player

Plays, in the background, in random order, tracks set to "Free full listen" mode — starts automatically on page load, stops via a dedicated button or when leaving the page. Ideal on a page that isn't centered on the music itself (photo gallery, "about" page…), for a discreet soundscape without drawing attention to it.

« Play automatically when the page loads » — a single site-wide setting, VEFmusic > Settings > General (not per block): starts on its own by default — muted until the visitor interacts with the page, see the warning below. Turn it off if you’d rather the visitor always start playback themselves, for every Random Player block/module/widget on the site at once.

Accessibility warning: sound that starts on its own, without the visitor asking for it, is a real obstacle for visually impaired visitors relying on a screen reader — it competes with and can drown out the speech output they depend on to navigate the page. Weigh this carefully before using this block, especially on a page a screen-reader user is likely to land on.

Only tracks set to free full listen are eligible — tracks in "preview" or "buyers only" mode can't be played in full without VEFmusic Pro, including them would break the mood every time the track changes. No eligible track = the block doesn't display on the visitor side (a message stays visible to you as an administrator, to remind you why).

Most browsers block automatic sound until some interaction has happened on the page — in that case, a small message invites the visitor to click the play button. This isn't a bug: it's a standard browser privacy policy, outside the plugin's control.

Visual customization

The simplest way, valid EVERYWHERE (Gutenberg AND Divi): the VEFmusic > Settings > Style tab, organized into sub-tabs (General, Tracks, Albums, Shows, Next Show — each separate for independent styling) — colors, spacing, and one default font for the whole site.

Shows / Next Show sub-tabs (adjustable separately): background, text color, venue name color, border (thickness + color, in addition to rounding), spacing between rows, and title/venue name size — adjustable in rem, never below 1 (readability). A value left empty keeps the default size (or falls back to "Shows" for "Next Show").

Tracks and Albums sub-tabs: background and text colors of each track, main (accent) color, VU meter peak color, gap between tracks, padding inside each track and corner radius. A value left empty keeps the default.

Block titles (album, shows) use the theme's heading size and weight by default. A title size set in VEFmusic > Settings > Style replaces that size for the blocks concerned.

The –vefm-accent, –vefm-font-family, –vefm-button-bg and –vefm-button-text-color variables set here are shared with VEFmusic Pro (cart, donations) — no need to set them twice.

Button shadow (General sub-tab): one shadow for all buttons of VEFmusic and VEFmusic Pro — horizontal and vertical offset, blur, spread and color with opacity. No color chosen = no shadow, the theme's button style is kept. Icon-only controls (volume, lyrics, quantity) never get it. PayPal buttons are drawn by PayPal itself and can't receive it.

For the font, two options: set it once for the whole site in VEFmusic > Settings > Style (General tab), or more finely block by block directly in Divi — every VEFmusic module has its own Design > Text tab with a real native Divi font picker (Google Fonts included), already available with nothing to configure.

Recommended on the Divi side: leave the module's own background transparent (don't set a background color there), and set the track color only via VEFmusic > Settings > Style (or the module's custom CSS). Setting a background color directly on the Divi module can currently spill over onto the tracks themselves and the space between them, with no visual distinction — a point still being improved.

To override this global setting on a specific block:

  • Gutenberg — select the block, "Colors"/"Spacing" panels in the right-hand column ("Block" tab).
  • Divi 5 — module's Advanced tab > Custom CSS, with the same variables. The show poster's height now adjusts automatically to the content, no setting needed.
    • Shared (all blocks) — --vefm-accent, --vefm-font-family, --vefm-button-shadow, --vefm-button-bg, --vefm-button-text-color, --vefm-btn-hover-opacity, --vefm-btn-disabled-opacity
    • Font sizes (all blocks) — --vefm-font-size-small, --vefm-font-size-normal, --vefm-font-size-medium, --vefm-font-size-large, --vefm-font-size-x-large, --vefm-font-size-xx-large (fallback scale, only used where the active theme doesn't define its own font size presets — and always for the show date badge. Shared with VEFmusic Pro).
    • Tracks / Album (player) / Random Player — --vefm-vu-peak, --vefm-track-bg, --vefm-track-text, --vefm-track-padding, --vefm-track-radius, --vefm-track-gap (Random Player has no dedicated Style tab of its own — it reuses –vefm-track-bg, –vefm-track-text and –vefm-track-padding from the Tracks sub-tab, not the others; set those to change how the Random Player looks).
    • Album title & description — --vefm-album-title-color, --vefm-album-description-color
    • Shows / Next Show — --vefm-concert-badge, --vefm-concert-badge-text, --vefm-concert-bg, --vefm-concert-text, --vefm-concert-venue-color, --vefm-concert-border-color, --vefm-concert-border-width, --vefm-concert-radius, --vefm-concert-gap, --vefm-concert-title-color, --vefm-concert-venue-size (–vefm-concert-gap only applies to Shows/Past Shows — Next Show always displays a single show, so spacing between shows has nothing to apply to).

Advanced settings on the Divi side

Two modules have a real selection field in their CONTENT tab (like any other Divi module), confirmed working under real conditions:

Module Field (Content tab) Usage
Album "Album to display" (dropdown) Choose the album directly from the list. Not set: latest published album.
Track List "Playlist mode — tracks to display" (checklist) Check the wanted tracks in the scrolling list. Nothing checked: the usual automatic list.

Working, but still improvable (UX to revisit) — a future improvement, not an urgent fix.

As a fallback if needed, the old method is still available via Divi's "Custom Attributes" (module's Advanced tab > Attributes > "+Add attribute" > target "Module") — no longer needed for normal use now that the native fields above are confirmed working:

Module Attribute name Value
Track List data-vefm-track-ids Track IDs separated by commas, e.g. 12,45,78 (playlist mode)
Album data-vefm-album-id ID of the album to display (visible in its edit URL)

Fallback method kept as a precaution — report any issue if you have to use it.

Technical

Editor compatibility (Gutenberg / Divi / Elementor)

VEFmusic works through native Gutenberg blocks, with no shortcode. These blocks insert directly into the native editor, into Divi 5 (6 dedicated modules, see above), and into Elementor (6 dedicated widgets, in their own "VEFmusic" category of the widgets panel).

Search engine optimization (SEO) — structured data

Every track, album and show page automatically publishes schema.org structured data (JSON-LD format, invisible on the page) describing the content to search engines — nothing to configure, nothing to enable. Uses the information already entered directly (duration, genre, price, show date and venue, cover art…).

How to check it's actually there (it's never visible to the eye on the page, it's made for search engines, not visitors):

  • Open a PUBLISHED track/album/show page, right-click the page > "View page source" (never the inspector, which shows the already-modified DOM) — look for application/ld+json.
  • Or paste the page's URL into Google's free tool: search.google.com/test/rich-results
  • The Diagnostic and support screen (see below) also confirms the module is active.

Support access

On the Diagnostic and support screen, “Support access” lets the publisher of the plugin sign in to your site, with a temporary account, for 24 hours to 7 days, to look at a problem with you. Nothing opens by itself: you click, tick the consent box, and a one-time key is emailed to the publisher with the diagnostic.

  • Limited rights (recommended): the VEFmusic screens, the diagnostic and the pages of your site. Full administrator rights are available for a problem outside the plugin.
  • In both cases the account can never manage users, install or edit code, export or erase personal data, change the site address or the administrator email, or change your payment keys, your license or the address that receives the contact mails. It cannot refund or delete an order either.
  • You receive an email at every sign-in, the journal keeps track, and the conversation on the same screen lets you answer and mark the actions that only you can do. At the end date, or when you close the access, the account, the key and the conversation are deleted.

Accessibility

Automatic, nothing to configure, across the plugin — not just the player:

  • Player progress bar usable with the keyboard once a track is playing and focused (Tab): left/right or up/down arrows to skip back/forward 5 seconds, Home/End to go to the start/end.
  • Volume sliders with a visible keyboard focus indicator.
  • Play/pause and volume buttons that announce their real state to screen readers (e.g. "Pause" during playback, "Unmute" when muted).
  • Random Player: the newly playing track is now announced to screen readers when it switches automatically, not just shown visually.
  • Visitor rating form: star options grouped with a proper legend, a hidden label for each star value, and a live status region announcing whether the submission succeeded.
  • "Show/Hide lyrics" button: its expanded/collapsed state is exposed to assistive technology, not just shown visually.
  • Links that open a new tab (Tickets, Venue website, social/streaming links) announced as such to screen readers.
  • Show poster and album cover with a descriptive alt text.

What remains out of reach without a real browser: color contrast, the exact heading hierarchy (depends on the theme). Please don't hesitate to report any concrete feedback from a real screen reader.

Legal pages

The plugin doesn't generate your site's legal notice, terms of sale or privacy policy: these pages must be created and maintained separately by the webmaster.

Band status (legal information)

At the bottom of the "General" tab: check whether the band has a professional status to enter its legal name, address, business registration number (or equivalent) and VAT. VEFmusic doesn't sell anything and never uses this information itself — it's only there to be reused automatically by VEFmusic Pro (invoices, purchase confirmation emails) if you ever install it, so you don't have to re-enter it.

Copyright and playing music publicly

At the bottom of the "General" tab, a reminder of your legal obligations before playing any music (including your own tracks). The country is automatically pre-selected based on the site's language (correct it yourself if needed, e.g. French spoken in France/Belgium/Switzerland/Canada — language alone isn't enough), with pre-filled text for France (factual SACEM reminder). Each country's content is managed directly in the plugin's includes/data/legal-notices.php file, not on this screen.

General tab: identity, sale formats and data removal

Band identity (name, logo, press contact, social links and an optional tagline — a short subtitle shown under the name and in the press kit header) is entered once in the General tab and reused across the plugin.

"Audio formats offered for sale" (MP3, WAV, FLAC) sets which formats a buyer can choose with VEFmusic Pro; keep MP3 enabled, it is the only format playable everywhere.

"Delete all data on uninstall" is off by default: deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen then keeps your tracks, albums, shows and settings. Turn it on only if you want all of them, and the audio files stored on the server, permanently removed with the plugin — with no way to undo it. Deactivating the plugin never deletes anything.

Updates

This version of VEFmusic is distributed through WordPress.org — updates appear on your Dashboard > Updates screen like any other plugin, nothing to configure here.

Settings Export / Import

VEFmusic > Settings > Export / Import tab: handy for deploying VEFmusic on a new site with the same identity/style instead of re-entering everything. Check the wanted categories (Identity & social, Playback & formats, Visitor ratings, Legal status, Style, Copyright) and download a .json file — to re-import on the other site (categories also all checked by default on import, uncheck the ones not to touch — an unchecked category is never modified, even if present in the file).

The band logo isn't transferable as-is (a media identifier specific to each site) — to be re-chosen on the new site after import. Content (Tracks, Albums, Shows) is deliberately not covered by this tool: WordPress's native tools (Tools > Export/Import) already do that very well, no need to duplicate them — a direct link is offered on the Export/Import screen.

Coming features

  • Native per-element COLOR setting fields for Divi 5 (e.g. concert badge color, track row background — directly in the module's panel, without going through custom CSS). The module's own container already has native background/text color (Design tab, same as the native font picker) since the latest builder update — what remains is exposing VEFmusic's finer internal colors (currently set via VEFmusic > Settings > Style or custom CSS) the same way. The SELECTION fields (album to display, tracks in playlist mode) are already native, see "Advanced settings on the Divi side" above.

Also see the "About" page for details on VEFmusic Pro's features (sales, donations, promo codes, merch, internal ticketing, preorders, customer accounts, revenue split… most already available) and what's still to come (gift cards, fan club subscription).
